We have something special for our readers. Alongside the official launch of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 multiplayer beta, we’re giving away 9 Early Access codes that will let you jump into the game starting October 2.

These codes are extremely limited and will give you the chance to play several days before the open beta begins. To keep things fun, we’ll be running a little community challenge across our social media channels. You’ll need to follow along, interact, and track down clues we share to claim a code.

Keep your eyes on our feeds, join the hunt, and you might secure your place in the Early Access beta. Comment on our social media post and let us know. We will be in touch!

  1. In one of our recent posts, “Unique Hobbies You Haven’t Tried Yet“, there’s a related post in there that starts with 9. What is the title of the post right below it?
  2. Under “Gaming Accessories“, Jason talks about some gaming monitors from Acer. Which one are they?
  3. What are the Manmade Men’s Essentials?

So this leaves an extra 6 more to give away! Oh, and maybe I didn’t mention it, but Jason’s gonna be dropping some of his own codes as well! Maybe we have more than 9? 😏

The beta is divided into two stages.

Early Access Beta
The first stage begins on October 2, 2025 and runs until October 5. This period is exclusive to players who pre-ordered the game or obtained a code through official partners and promotions.

Open Beta
The second stage begins on October 5, 2025 and will remain live until October 8. This phase is open to everyone, no purchase or code required.

By splitting the beta into two windows, Activision ensures that dedicated fans get rewarded with a few extra days while still opening the doors to the wider community.

Platforms you can play on

The beta will be available across all the main platforms, so you will not be left out, regardless of your system.

  • PlayStation 5
  • PlayStation 4
  • Xbox Series X | S
  • Xbox One
  • PC via Steam and Battle.net

Once the beta client becomes available, it will appear in your library or be redeemable with a token, depending on how you secured access.

How to get Early Access codes

There are two ways to get into the Early Access period.

  1. Digital pre-orders
If you pre-ordered Black Ops 7 digitally on PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, or Battle.net, you are already in. Your account is automatically flagged, and the beta client will be waiting for you to download once it goes live.
  2. Physical pre-orders or retail codes
If you bought a physical copy from a participating retailer, you should have received a code. That code is redeemed on the Call of Duty beta redemption site. Once you enter your code, you select your platform and region. Activision will then send you a platform-specific download token by email closer to October 2.

This token will be the actual code that allows you to install the beta on your chosen platform.

What you can play in the beta

The Black Ops 7 beta is not just a small demo. Activision is including a healthy slice of multiplayer and even a taste of Zombies.

Multiplayer modes

You can expect returning favourites like Team Deathmatch, Domination, Kill Confirmed, and Hardpoint. A brand new mode called Overload is also making its debut. Overload is a 6v6 mode where teams battle to control an Overload Device and overload enemy zones, offering a fresh spin on objective-based gameplay.

Maps

At least six maps will be available during the beta:

  • Blackheart
  • Cortex
  • Exposure
  • Imprint
  • The Forge
  • Toshin

Each map has been designed with the fast-paced Black Ops style in mind, mixing close-quarters combat with strategic sightlines.

Zombies Survival

For the first time, Zombies will be part of a Call of Duty beta. Players will be able to try the Vandorn Farm map in Survival mode. Expect reworked mechanics, new challenges, and plenty of undead to mow down. This will be a highlight for fans who have been asking to test Zombies early.

Why you should join

The beta is more than just early access. By playing, you are helping Treyarch and Raven test servers, balance weapons, and polish the experience before launch. Progress made during the beta will not carry over to the full game, but certain cosmetic rewards tied to your Activision ID will. That means some items you unlock will be waiting for you when Black Ops 7 officially releases.

It is also your chance to see how the game feels, learn the new maps, and try out fresh features like Hybrid Combat Specialties before everyone else.

Final thoughts

The Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 multiplayer beta is shaping up to be one of the biggest in series history. With Early Access starting on October 2 and the Open Beta following on October 5, millions of players will be jumping in to get their first hands-on experience.

If you have an Early Access code, make sure to redeem it now so you are ready when the download tokens go out. If not, mark your calendar for October 5 and join the rest of the community in the open test.

Black Ops 7 is almost here, and the beta is the first step into the next chapter of Call of Duty.
