The Hummingbird by bliiq is here to make a statement. Let me say that I'm quite impressed with the fit that I get with these. An issue that I find with in-ear headphones is the fit. How do they sound? An honest answer is they aren't far from the competition in the same price range.
I went ahead and changed the ear tips to accommodate the fit to my ears and was pleased that I found something that worked well. I did make a recommendation for future products; Add foam tips.
If they had provided foam tips, this would have made for an even better fit. I guess that's just a personal preference?
The music sounds good, they are comfortable for an extended period of time and will definitely satisfy most consumers. I Loaded my music library and started the journey with the Hummingbird from bliiq. Note that using the appropriate ear tip might help you in creating a better seal, this in turns allows you to have a better experience and quality in music playback.

The first emphasis is the bass that's being driven into these. It's loud, clear, even as the register pushes lower the bass didn't waver. It was promising for the rest of the sound range. With some of the more house music; The voices, instruments that tend to move between the mid's and high's felt softer as if almost artificially cleaner. The midrange sounded flat, this isn't a bad thing, I was hoping that the richness would pierce through for a more refined sound.
It might not reflect what others feel about the music or the sound elements. This comes down to a personal preference for how we hear the music.
The Built-In Ambient Mode of the Hummingbird allows to ear your surrounding without having to take off your earphones and this was something I missed in other headphones I've reviewed. A 10 minute on the charge yields about 1-hours worth of playback music for you to enjoy. The upside, if you charge them to the max, you get approximately 15-hours of music playback. The test I performed over a week determined that I can get about 11-hours give or take depending on the level of the music.
Much like other sports in-ear headphones, they offer sweat protection and are weather resistant. Let's try these again a bit later when we hit the -40c here in Canada. Well, let's be honest that likely won't happen until January. The company also throws in a carrying case, which definitely makes it easier than stuffing them inside my coat pocket or jeans for that matter.
I can attest to the fact that walking in the rain doesn't stop them from just blasting out your music.
And last but not least, the bliiq Hummingbird come in at about $70 USD and around $110 CAD respectively. The prices aren't definitives since I've seen some variation on Amazon and Amazon Canada. bliiq offers a “lifetime warranty” they are that confident that Hummingbird will suite people.
