AndroidTO is upon us and it's time to kick it into high gear. The event is for developers but there seems to be a lot of different people from every walk of life who attends. Even someone like myself whom blogs, writes and reviews Android and tech, in general, find an appeal to the event.

This is the place to make some connections, encounter people, gain some grounds and some knowledge and grow.

This year is no exception, there's a panel of professionals in their own field and speakers with a message to convey or some knowledge about how to be a better developer in the grand scheme of things.

Every year the event is similar but different in its execution, the team at have managed to bring something inspiring every year since I've been introduced to this event. To think this started in a basement and sprawled over as it did over the years is wonderful.

While strolling around myself, I notice new and old faces among the crowd and I for one am looking at interacting with them and see where they see themselves in this Android world.

Some of the speakers and the topic they want to bring to the forefront are interesting in nature, it's something that they feel should be provided to the mass of developers attending and I for one am interested in some of the topics presented on the schedule.

Let's have a look at the schedule just a bit and I'll touch on some of the topics I'm interested in taking part.

Sam Wolfand is bringing something that I think is interesting, the login experience from an enterprise-level perspective. I'm not entirely sure what this means, but I have a pretty good idea of what it entails. I'll just have to sit back and watch the presentation that will be forthcoming.

If you're a tech guy/gal you've likely touched the command-line right? A big black box that sits there much like a terminal window would. This can either be a great powerful tool or it can be a bane in your existence.

I choose to make this a powerful tool I can use in my arsenal. One of the speakers will touch on this very crafty tool to highlight the superpowers it can provide you. Of course, this is only a metaphor to shine a light on how powerful this can be for you.

This could just be me, but I think this year's line of speakers is bringing some interesting topics. The next one on my list of from Kristina Balaam, Auditing your APKs like a Black Hate Hacker. I have no idea how this is done, but it sure has piqued my curiosity.

When it comes to the afternoon part of the day, it typically serves as a place for developers to learn even more with some more in-depth knowledge. This is typically the place where will see people dive more into the development aspect.

The afternoon kicks off with some more interesting teach and learn classes. While this isn't meant as a full course, it's mean to touch aspect of the Android Development world and assist developers in growing their skills.

Topics like Dynamic App Modules: Building For the Next Billion will like caters to a group of dev's that are interested in pushing for the future of app development.

While topics like “A Skeptics Guide to Programmatic Views on Android” will highlights areas that one might not really pay attention to.

But overall, this sets the tone for the afternoon where it will be interesting to see what knowledge can be gained.

By the time I get the end of the day, there will be one last topic of interest; Common poor coding patterns and how to avoid them. This will be interesting since it might shed light on how one can improve its code.

The guest speakers for the event are bound to make an impression on the attendees which many are looking forward to.

It wouldn't be a complete day without a get together that focuses on camaraderie amongst us and a cheerful send off for the people that came to take part in AndroidTO 2018!
