I was looking for a better charging solution for devices that make use of the USB-C standard. Typically most of you are like me, we have cables and chargers all over the place. There was a need for something that would be more convenient.
Vola is the company that makes the charging magnetic tips and cables. They are available for micro, lightning and USB-C. The current design supports QC 3.0 which translates into charging faster.
The good thing about using such system is you don't have to worry about yanking cable as it will break away without causing any damage.
Some might think that the pin will be in the way or protrude too much, but I'll have to disagree with them, I found it to provide a nice anchor point at the bottom when I hold my phone with one hand. It's replaced all my other cables at this time. Probably will be also for all my future devices. It's something I always liked from the Sony devices of past.
Its been well over two weeks and I'm pretty happy with the cable. I'm looking forward to using it even more over the next bit as I'll be travelling over the summer and see how well it fares when it comes to being abused.
The cable is braided in nylon fibre, offers strong PVC composition and is able to withstand the normal use. The 24 AWG copper wires guarantee a fast charge delivery. The cable is very much like many of the others I've used, it's durable and you won't really find a way to “break” it unless you really are trying to.
The site also claims a “LIFETIME Warranty”, now I'm not entirely sure how far they go at giving out this guarantee, but I'd be interested to put it to the test.
