Microsoft Rewards (or Xbox rewards) are points you can collect daily and redeem for various rewards, such as Microsoft or Xbox gift cards, monthly Game Pass memberships, contest entries, and more. They are pretty easy to collect, and if you’re an avid gamer with a Game Pass Ultimate subscription, you can maximize your points in about 30 minutes each day by completing a few Game Pass Quests. Before some recent changes were made, it could take much longer, as one of the requirements was to get an actual achievement in a Game Pass game… I’m glad that one is gone!
Currently, there are 6 ways to collect Microsoft Rewards points:
- Log in daily to the mobile Xbox app
- Play the Microsoft Jewel mobile game
- Play a PC game
- Play a game on your console
- Play a Game Pass game
- Play up to 8 different Game Pass games each month
Log in daily to the mobile Xbox app
When you log into the mobile Xbox app (I use the Android app), you’ll get 5, 10, 15, 20, or 25 points daily. Added up, that’s a total of 75 points every five days. Over the course of a month or so, you can earn between 90 and 120 points, depending on the cycle. Week 1 should net you 90, week 2 – 110, week 3 – 105, week 4 – 100, and week 5 – 120.

Time requirement: 30 seconds/day
Points: 90-120 Microsoft Rewards points/week
Running total: 90-120 Microsoft Rewards points/week
Play the Microsoft Jewel mobile game
Easy and self-explanatory. From the Xbox mobile app, tap the “Tap here to play” tile to launch Microsoft Jewel. Once the game launches, play the first level, clear 20 jewels in the first challenge, make a jewel match in the second level, and exit out of the game. Points earned!
Time requirement: 2 minutes/day
Points: 35 Microsoft Rewards points/week
Running total: 125-155 Microsoft Rewards points/week
Play a PC game
Another easy one. Fire up and play a Game Pass game on your PC for 15 minutes. Microsoft Solitaire & Casual Games counts as well and is preinstalled on most computers. Just make sure you’re logged into it with your Xbox account. Once done, you’ll get an extra 10 points per day. Once you’ve played for five days out of the weekly seven, you’ll get a bonus 150 points.

Time requirement: 15 minutes/day
Points: 220 Microsoft Rewards points/week
Running total: 345-375 Microsoft Rewards points/week
Play a game on your console
Like the PC task above, play a Game Pass game on your console for 15 minutes. Once done, you’ll get an extra 10 points per day. As with the PC game task, once you’ve played a game on your console for five days out of the seven, you’ll get a bonus of 150 points.
Time requirement: 15 minutes/day
Points: 220 Microsoft Rewards points/week
Running total: 565-595 Microsoft Rewards points/week
Play a Game Pass game
If you’ve been playing a PC Game Pass or a console Game Pass game for the previous two tasks, this one will stack, giving you a hefty bonus! Not only will you get 10 points each day (for a total of 70 for the week), but this streak multiplies if you play all seven days in a week! The first week, you’ll score 100 bonus points, the second 200, the third 300, and finally, the fourth (and beyond) 400! That’s a bonus of 470 extra points each week once you maximize the 4x multiplier for the streak. If you ever miss a week, the multiplier will reset, and you’ll have to work your way back up.

Time requirement: 15 minutes/day (stackable with playing a PC/console game)
Points: 470 Microsoft Rewards points/week
Running total: 1,035-1,065 Microsoft Rewards points/week
Play up to 8 different Game Pass games each month
While this isn’t an addition to a weekly task, playing 4 different Game Pass games each month nets you another 50 points, while playing 8 different Game Pass games nets you an ADDITIONAL 350 on top of that. If you play your cards right, you can get this out of the way early each month by rotating the PC or Xbox Game Pass games you play to complete the “Play a PC game” or “Play a game on your console” tasks.

Bonus total: (up to) 350 Microsoft Rewards points!
Bonus points
Finally, you can earn extra Microsoft Rewards points by hitting up rewards.bing.com on your computer and/or the Bing app on your smartphone. But that’s not gaming-related, so we’ll (maybe) cover that in another article!
So, there you have it. Not only is this an easy, enjoyable way to earn Microsoft Rewards points while gaming, but it also allows you to explore the Game Pass catalogue for both PC and Xbox and maybe find a hidden gem or two. Happy Microsoft Rewards points hunting!
