I have reviewed a few gaming keyboards over the past year. To this day, I have not found what I needed in a mechanical gaming keyboard. The V765 from Viper Gaming may just have changed that. This is a sponsored review in partnership with Viper Gaming a Patriot brand.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nUnlike the V770 from Viper Gaming, the V765 doesn't have extra left side keys for macros. It gives you a more traditional approach to a mechanical gaming keyboard.\r\n\r\nThe top of the keyboard still offers media key access and volume control. What you won't see are extra ports for USB or audio pass through.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nYou do have the ability to control the RGB via the command keys that can enable different modes. The lighting options are identical to the V770; Static, Breathing, Wave, Reactive, Sidewinder, Ripple, Spectrum, Raindrop, Vortex, Spotlight and Radar.\r\n\r\nThe software also allows you to create and record your macros. You can select the trigger for the macro combination. You can also create multiple profiles for the various games.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThe brush aluminum frame of the V765 is a solid piece, housing kailh blue switch keys and providing an actuation rate of 1.8mm distance. Included is also a detachable magnetic palm rest and the whole product is dust and water resistant.\r\n\r\nI think this might just become the keyboard of choice. I have no extra keys along the side edge or the top. It easily integrates into my desktop setup. The feeling of the keys, the press, the response, the feedback is what I like from the V765.\r\n\r\nThe keys on the keyboard are in a sort of stadium gradient from the bottom to the top. I decided to increase the keyboard height using the legs to lift the angle of the keyboard. In doing so, this is increases the reach of the keys. It gives me a better glide all over the keyboard and in turns makes it easier to type or play games.\r\n\r\nViper Gaming V765 Mechanical Gaming RGB Keyboard comes in at $89.99 USD on Amazon. A good price for a well-balanced keyboard.\r\n\r\nI would like to see Viper Gaming add extra keys for macros, controls at the top of the keyboard. What I do enjoy from this is the response from the keys and the tactile feedback. The RGB colours is always a good thing in my book, it adds some flair. A minor thing is I find that the colour shift isn't completely smooth, I do believe this can be improved upon with additional software update.
