During Gamescom’s Opening Night Live earlier this week, Geoff Keighley gave us our biggest look yet at Stage Tour, the highly anticipated rhythm game from RedOctane Games. Built by veterans of the original music game era alongside leading community creators, this isn’t just a nostalgia trip; it’s a full-blown genre revival. Set to an epic trailer featuring Mötley Crüe’s “Kickstart My Heart,” the announcement dropped a ton of details about the game’s release, tracklist, and brand-new hardware.

Here is everything you need to know about the game that’s about to take over your living room.

When Does Stage Tour Launch?

Mark your calendars: Stage Tour officially launches on December 10, 2026. The game will be available on PlayStation®5, XBOX Series X|S, Nintendo® Switch™2, and PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store).

Familiar, But Fresh Gameplay

RedOctane’s mantra for Stage Tour is “familiar, but fresh,” and the gameplay reflects exactly that. Up to four players can rock out together locally or via cross-platform online co-op.

But here’s the kicker: you don’t need a closet full of plastic instruments to get a full band going. The game supports any combination of guitar controllers, drum controllers, microphones, standard gamepads, or even keyboard and mouse. You could literally have four people shredding on gamepads, or a traditional full-band setup—the choice is yours.
